It’s likely that this is rolling out slowly to more accounts. We’re seeing this updated UI across a number of Android TV and Google TV devices including Nvidia Shield TV, Chromecast, and more. Select the video: Now select the video from your computer and upload it. Click on ‘file upload’: You will see some options such as upload folder, Goggle docs etc. Click on plus sign: Now click on plus sign at the top left corner. Accessing the Like/Dislike, channel info, playback speed, and quality controls is now a little slower as more taps are needed to access these controls. Open Google drive: Click on sign in and sign in with your Gmail account. It is hard not to feel that this move makes the experience a little more congested. If you tap or use a remote to scrub through the player timeline, related content is still shown underneath. This isn’t the only change, as the channel details and further video controls are now moved off to the left side of the YouTube player UI on Android TV and Google TV-powered devices. Annoyingly this does obscure more of any YouTube video you’re viewing as content is dimmed. Sat just above the playback progress bar, it shows the view count, large video title, small channel name, and upload date. When playing videos, this larger Material You info “pill” looks to have replaced the upper-left title text.
